I am working towards my final major project for my BA Hons in Graphic Design at Arden University. This isn't a real life project brief, but as a Graphic Design student, it will enable me to create and challenge the design principle for this self-initiated project.

Empathise
On my first week I concentrated on gather as much research as I could about the Banquet Records brand. I created mind maps, research on competitors, who are the target audience and making a visual analysis on the current brand identity.

Moodboard and Mindmap
Define
Between week 2 & 3 I began to work on the define stage of my design process by creating my SMART objectives and figuring out my proposal brief based on the research I had done in the empathise stage.

Prototype 2
Social Media Templates
I created some small cinemagraphs which will be used across the social media template style and create a series that shows small animated movements across album covers. Animated album covers have been recently introduced on Apple Music for certain albums only, so to keep up with the latest trends its across music platform I have created my own version as a series to use across social posts to create a story.
Making a cinemagraph takes time for me as a designer to create a single movement from a static image. You need to be precise with the moving element that is doesn't effect the other composition elements of Typography, Colour and Harmony.
Prototype 3
From prototype 3, I decide to change the font on the logo to the Rustic Neon one I created making it look like the following:

Throughout my development for the new re-brand, I have gone for the approach of breaking the grid like David Carson, this enables me to express the broad range of music that the Banquet Records brand offers, giving that establishment within the Music Industry. There is a visible contrast and proportional ratio between elements, type and background to create a design that offers a great solution to Banquet Records problem.
